ABOUT
Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange buys Coins, Currency, Bullion, Sterling, Jewelry, and other Collectibles, by providing respectful and safe purchases in a professional environment. We work by appointment only, so that we can take the time to evaluate each collection. When you come in we will sit down, go through the items, write up a buy price and pay you on the spot. These appointments are typically set in 30 minute increments.
Additional Services we offer:
- Sometimes people want EVALUATIONS and ADVICE about their collection from a professional coin dealer. Those appointments are $100 for up to one hour.
- We offer APPRAISALS as well. Appraisals are a written evaulation of a collection. In their most formal nature, they are used with the probate court or other places where third party evaluation of price is necessary. People want appraisals for a variety of reasons, and for whatever reason you need an appraisal, we are happy to help. They are done for $250 an hour, and typically will take somewhere between 2-15 hours of work. At your first appointment, we will look at your collection to estimate the time needed to write your appraisal.
- Sometimes we find that people want to buy coins, or INVEST in silver or gold. We are happy to help with that as well. Give us a call and go over with us what you're looking for, and we will prepare it for you in advance of your appointment. Note: We do not take credit cards.
Brian Geno, the Director, began with a simple interest in coin collecting. As a boy, he learned a little about the hobby through his father; and that interest rubbed off. He explored other interests for a while, but remained impressed with the history and value of coins. Later, a friend who knew Brian's interest showed him a Judaean Alexander Jannaeus Prutah, 103-76 BC, also known as a Widow's Mite. He loved the significance of that coin from a Bible story and got back into the hobby which has morphed into a coin and precious metals dealership. Today Brian is a certified Coin and Precious Metals Dealer, who can only be found at Fairfax Coin & Collectibles, a BBB accredited business. He has trade affiliations with ANA, The American Numismatic Association; PCGS, The Professional Coin Grading Service; NGC, Numismatic Guarantee Corporation;and the Virginia Numismatic Association; and The Barber Coin Soceity. In addition, Fairfax Coin & Collectibles Exchange Numismatic Coin Appraisers have decades of experience in the coin buying and collecting world, and use that knowledge to identify and evaluate your coins. We make every effort to fairly offer money immediately for your coins, whether it's the entire collection or particular coins. We work by appointment only, so please call today.
